Your new role
In this role, you will report to the Superintendent and take ownership of delivering a diverse capital project portfolio within the team. On a 4:3 or 5:2 roster, you'll oversee multiple civil and infrastructure projects such as airport works, water systems, roadways, and housing developments. Your responsibilities include:
1. Upholding and promoting strong health, safety, environmental and sustainability commitments
2. Applying the company's risk management framework to identify, assess and manage project risks
3. Managing the full project lifecycle using the Small Projects Management Framework
4. Producing clear, structured and high quality documentation
5. Providing analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving expertise
6. Engaging with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals
7. Negotiating contract terms to support budget and schedule outcomes
8. Embedding lessons learnt and identifying productivity and capital efficiency opportunities
9. Leading, supporting and mentoring project managers and engineers across project lifecycles
What you'll need to succeed
10. Engineering Bachelor Degree (or higher)
11. Experience reporting to or working within a PMO
12. Demonstrated portfolio management experience across varying budgets and KPIs
13. Proven capability across the full project lifecycle
14. QLD Coal Mining experience
15. Experience delivering civil and water management projects (FEL, design clarification, execution, commissioning)
16. Strong planning experience, including coordination with contractors and trades
17. Strong stakeholder influence and communication skills
18. High attention to safety, quality and compliance
19. Effective writing skills across documentation, emails and presentations
20. Proficiency in documentation, including actions, delays, variations, ITPs, punch lists and close out packages.
21. Strong Microsoft Suite competency (Excel, Word, Outlook)
