The Opportunity
Austroads is looking to engage an Electronics Engineer to join its growing Technical Systems Innovation team.
The opportunity is for a 1-year fixed term with possibility for extension and is a fabulous opportunity for a passionate individual, or graduate who has a hands-on approach, and who thrives in a close-knit team operating in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
Responsibilities
This exciting role will involve the following:
* Conducting testing and assessment of various hardware, including but not limited to GPS/GNSS based Telematics In-Vehicle Units and On-Board Mass Measurement Systems in the field and in the laboratory
* Actively participating in type approval, re-certification and audit activities related but not limited to hardware
* Assisting in the development of specialised test equipment and methodologies
* Performing data analysis, presentation and reporting
* Conducting maintenance and enhancement of Austroads test assets
* Liaising with members of jurisdictional and service provider focus groups regarding hardware related matters
* Assisting in the maintenance of NATA accreditation
* Managing designated projects, from commencement to closure
* Assisting in written and/or oral reporting on project progress and issues to internal stakeholders and members or the board from time to time.

About you
The successful candidate will possess:
* An engineering qualification from a recognised institution.
* Experience in a general electronics design environment, including microcontrollers, embedded firmware and schematic hardware design.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience writing design documents and test procedures.
* Familiarity with data mining packages and GNSS would be an advantage.
