Northam Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Mathematics Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. The school stands on the bank of the Avon River and has a proud and rich history of providing a comprehensive curriculum to students in Years 7 to 12 from the Northam and surrounding Wheatbelt districts students. With over 650 students, we are the largest school in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. In our vision of ‘A Community United’, we work in partnership with students, staff, parents/carers and the community to establish positive and productive relationships. Northam SHS is focussed on embedding trauma-informed and restorative practices, where our systems are designed to prioritise student belonging, voice and mastery in a strengths-based model. The Role Northam SHS is seeking highly motivated Mathematics Teachers committed to maximising the progress of all students. Northam SHS caters to a diverse range of students and is seeking staff who prioritise strong student relationships and bring engaging teaching, learning, and assessment practices to the classroom. Suitable applicants will be reflective practitioners who collaborate effectively within the learning area team, the learning community team and the wider school community to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs. Applicants should ideally possess the professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver engaging and relevant Mathematics programs across Years 7 to 12. It is highly regarded that applicants have experience delivering Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) courses or be teachers with primary numeracy intervention expertise.
