Your new role
This senior leadership position involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements across ANZ. You will manage a high-performing team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver strategic financial outcomes. The role is responsible for the following:
* Lead and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring smooth processes and adherence to requirements.
* Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement best practices.
* Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals locally and internationally, fostering growth and performance.
* Stay abreast of accounting regulations and ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
* Partner with Finance, Tax, Legal, Operations, and Shared Services to resolve accounting issues and support business initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Professionally qualified, you will ideally have at least 8 years' experience in accounting, including 3+ years in a managerial role. Proven experience engaging with Big 4 audit partners and managers (either gained from time at one of the Big 4 or through your commercial experience) is strongly preferred, as is a background in financial services, fintech or professional services. You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams, as well as advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. To do this, you will also need excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel; SAP S/4HANA experience is a distinct advantage.
