About the Role
The Business and Training Support Officer role is responsible for supporting regional business activities through effective and efficient management of relevant human, financial, information and technological resources and to ensure corporate reporting and legislative compliance requirements are met. This includes:
* supporting administration of the Local Government Grant Scheme (LGGS) Operating budgets across the four Local Governments (aligned with Bush Fire Brigade and State Emergency Service funding).
* fleet coordination, regional travel arranging, incident/operational expenditure, regional office administrative support, procurement and contract management, regional budgets and financial administration.
The role is also responsible for:
* the coordination and reporting of all regional training programs,
* ensuring compliance in accordance with State and National training regulatory requirements for staff, volunteers and selected community groups.
* supporting all regional staff, across all DFES hazards, in their delivery of training.
The role may be required to assist in regional operations and incident management duties outside of normal business hours.
Prerequisites
Successful applicants must have:
* Possession of a Western Australian Driver's Licence (C Class minimum) which must remain valid for the duration of employment.

Eligibility To Apply
You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency.
National Police Certificate
A condition of employment for new employees of DFES is that a current National Police Certificate (less than 3 months old) is provided prior to commencement.
Choice of Super
The Fire and Emergency Services (Superannuation Fund) Regulations 1986, prevents DFES from offering choice of super for permanent appointments. Those appointed permanently, only have the following two options:
* Remain with their existing GESB Superannuation account; or
* Join the Fire and Emergency Services Superannuation Fund (Click here for more information).
Those appointed on a fixed term contract do have choice of super, however if converted to permanent, employees will need to choose one on the two options listed above.
