We provide essential services to over 1,200 clients in Perth, Western Australia. We are an organisation delivering meaningful and transformational support and community care programs for seniors, their families, and ethnic communities since 1909. About the Role
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering effective, compliant, and high-quality human resources advisory and administrative services in accordance with relevant legislation, organisational policies, directives, and procedures. This role requires the development of strong working relationships across the organisation and a consistent, professional representation of the organisation at all times.
The Human Resources Manager provides efficient and effective support and advice across all areas of Human Resources (HR), including but not limited to the following key functional areas:
* Recruitment and workforce planning
* Compensation and benefits
* Training and development
* Employee engagement and satisfaction
* Employment legislation and compliance
* Workplace health and safety
Responsibilities
* Monitor relevant employment legislation and ensure HR practices remain compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Contribute to the review, development, and implementation of organisational policies, procedures, and HR systems to maintain compliance and support best practice.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, databases, and documentation.
* Coordinate and support all stages of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and termination processes.
* Provide HR guidance, support, and advice to managers and employees as required.
* Support and deliver in-house training, workshops, and HR-related initiatives where appropriate.
* Ensure confidentiality and privacy are maintained at all times.
* Any other duties as directed by Management within known skills, knowledge and capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills
* Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey human resources advice, information, and concepts.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships, foster cooperation, and develop trust with a range of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Agreements, the SCHADS Award, Common Law Contracts, and relevant employment legislation, including but not limited to the Fair Work Act 2009 and the Equal Opportunity Act 1984.
* High level of attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate documentation in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
* Ability to travel between sites within the Perth metropolitan area.
* Proven ability to work independently under broad direction, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute positively to team outcomes.
* Ability to speak an Asian language (Cantonese/ Mandarin).
* Knowledge or experience using a CRM system/ data base.
* Experience in the aged care/community/health sector/non-profit sector.
