Overview
Boronia Heights State School is looking for a reliable and hands-on Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to help maintain a clean, secure and welcoming environment for our school community. In this role you'll carry out a variety of routine maintenance, small repair and groundskeeping tasks. If you take pride in your work and enjoy working in the outdoors, we'd love to hear from you!
This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and carry out repairs and maintenance to school infrastructure including furniture, equipment, locks, and windows; maintain detailed records in line with Work Health and Safety protocols.
- Support the setup and logistical needs of school events.
- Deliver parcels to classrooms.
- Maintain school grounds and gardens.
- Maintain effective communication with the Principal, Business Manager and Facilities Supervisor regarding scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in building maintenance including routine repairs and upkeep of school facilities, furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Identify, diagnose and resolve common maintenance issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, locks, windows and general carpentry.
- Manage tools, equipment and maintenance records in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance including routine repairs and upkeep of school facilities, furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Skilled in identifying, diagnosing and resolving common maintenance issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, locks, windows and general carpentry.
- Familiarity with managing tools, equipment and maintenance records in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
