The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Cake & Pastry Chef to lead our cake and pastry department. This role combines hands-on creation of premium cakes and desserts with team leadership and operational management.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about cake artistry and pastry craftsmanship, confident in managing a team, and highly skilled at coordinating production, orders, and supplies to ensure efficiency and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Cake & Pastry Creation – Design, develop, and produce high-quality cakes, pastries, and desserts in line with L’épi Bakery Group standards.
- Team Leadership – Manage, train, and inspire the pastry team to maintain high performance, consistency, and creativity.
- Order Management – Oversee and coordinate cake and pastry orders for all L’épi Bakery Group stores, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Supply Management – Manage inventory, source specialty ingredients, and place supply orders to maintain cost efficiency and premium product quality.
- Quality & Standards – Ensure all cakes and pastries meet exceptional standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.
- Collaboration – Work closely with other bakery managers and departments to support smooth operations and successful new product launches.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Pastry or Cake Chef, with a strong portfolio showcasing cakes, pastries, and desserts.
- Prior management or supervisory experience in a bakery, hospitality, or food production environment (preferred).
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent knowledge of cake decorating techniques, pastry methods, ingredients, and food safety standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lead a passionate and supportive cake & pastry team with a focus on creativity and quality.
