The Regional Safety Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of safety programs and initiatives to achieve compliance against relevant legislation and company policies, and to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
About the role: Maintaining sound working knowledge of current and relevant health and safety legislation, standards and requirements.
Advising employees and supervisors on health and safety legislation and standards.
Monitoring compliance with the company's health and safety program, and with relevant legislation.
Working collaboratively with others to ensure all aspects of the Brandt health and safety program are effectively communicated.
Advising employees, supervisors, and committees/representatives on health and safety program policies and procedures and on legislation.
Ensuring health and safety committee meetings and toolbox talks are completed as required, according to legislation or company requirements Overseeing the claims management and rehabilitation scheme (WorkCover & RTWSA) to deliver effective, efficient and fit for purposes results.
Coaching and educating managers and employees on how to respond and manage health and safety incidents, near misses and hazards.
Evaluating incident notifications and when required, support managers undertake investigations and collaborate to identify and implement corrective actions.
Cooperating with occupational health and safety officers, inspectors, and others to monitor compliance and correct non-compliance.
Attend all 15 locations across SA and VIC on a monthly basis About you: Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or similar coupled with practical application within the agriculture, construction or like industries.
Demonstrated ability to provide Health and Safety advice across all levels within an organisation.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret relevant Health and Safety Legislation (Acts, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice, Policies and Procedures).
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers and business associates.
Well-developed written communications skills with the ability to produce reports, policy development and associated documentation.
Strong customer service focus and commitment to quality customer service outcomes.
Analytical and Problem-solving skills.
