We're seeking motivated technology professionals for FIFO opportunities within a mining environment. This role is ideal for graduates or early-career professionals with a background in Python and Linux who want to build a career in mining technology systems.
Description
You will be the first point of contact for mining technology on an 8/6 site roster to provide back-to-back support to roll out, update, and maintain this cutting-edge mining technology product.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
* Ensure system uptime and stability, manage incidents, and coordinate service restoration efficiently.
* Act as the primary on-site contact for software users, technicians, and product teams.
* Deploy, configure, and maintain the mining technology and related services.
* Configure monitoring, alerts, and logging; proactively respond to issues and escalate when required.
* Manage Linux systems and leverage Python scripting to automate and optimize tasks.
* Provide L1 and L2 technical support for all application-related issues.
* Document procedures and drive continuous improvements in support, monitoring, and change management.
* Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Operations Technology teams on upgrades, bug fixes, and system enhancements.
Profile
Required Skills and Experience:
* Hands-on Linux system administration experience (RedHat, Debian).
* Python or Bash scripting for automation and optimization.
* Monitoring, alerting, and logging tools experience.
* Experience with Docker/containers and virtual machines
* L1/L2 application support experience in production systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
* Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
