OverviewWe are recruiting for an experienced Pig Farm Manager for a farm in Queensland, Australia.
Our client is a progressive, family-owned business specialising in all aspects of pig production.
They have been farming for over 90 years and employ over 135 staff across multiple sites in Queensland, Australia.As Farm Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a brand-new, indoor breeder unit with 2500 sows.
The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach while providing strong leadership and management.
With this role will come a sense of ownership and pride from being a key member of a well-renowned Australian pig company.Job Description:ResponsibilitiesManagement of the new site, including staff, animal welfare, husbandry, biosecurity, training and quality assurance programsProviding strategic direction and oversight to ensure productive operation of the siteCollaborate with farm managers, senior management, staff, and consultant veterinarians to ensure the site/s overall successProviding leadership and motivation to teams to ensure the company values are upheldMonitor financial performance through effective budgeting and cost controlAdhere to the company's genetics programRecord-keeping and data analysisBeing physically fit and motivated to perform all aspects of the roleQualificationsAbility to demonstrate a high-level understanding of animal management techniquesMinimum of five years of commercial pig farm management or experience in a comparable role within the industryStrong planning and organisational abilitiesStrong communication skillsExcellent stockperson skillsAs part of the visa requirements, you are required to maintain your own private health care for the duration of your visaSalary & BenefitsSalary range: $100,000 - $140,000 AUD per annum DOECover costs of relocation (flights + visa)Performance-based production bonusesAccommodation available depending on requirementsFor further details, please call Roadhogs Recruitment Ltd.All applications are dealt with in strict confidence, and our applicant service is free.
