Key Responsibilities
The Hospital Coordinator plays a vital role in the effective management of hospital operations. This includes overseeing the maintenance of high standards of practice, ensuring adequate staffing levels, and coordinating resources during emergency and after-hours situations.
Responsibilities include managing human and material resources on a shift basis to ensure efficient and effective hospital functioning. The Hospital Coordinator also serves as the referral point for various services, including patient services, epidemiology, pharmacy, and catering, in the absence of the Department Head or deputy.
In addition, this role involves reviewing and planning prospective data to ensure optimal resource utilization. The Hospital Coordinator must also cost-effectively manage human resources, particularly penalties, over-time, and rostering practices, in accordance with award agreements and entitlements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, applicants must possess well-developed communication skills, enabling them to effectively convey ideas and foster collaboration. A minimum of five years post-graduate experience at a clinical level appropriate to the responsibility of the appointment is required.
A registration as a Registered Nurse with current Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is essential. Applicants should demonstrate knowledge of Workplace Health, Safety, and Productivity Development (WHPPD) strategies and their ability to create a safe and productive environment.
