Primary objective
Manage and perform a range of administrative tasks and duties for Primary Health Care (PHC) remote services to ensure
the provision of responsive, quality, cost effective services. Provide efficient supervision, induction and training of the pool
of driver positions and coordinate the logistics necessary to place second responders in remote community health centres.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Follow processes for routine/urgent maintenance, repair and service activity relating to the PHC fleet to ensure that

vehicle roadworthy condition is maintained.
2. Coordinate the allocation of vehicles to remote community health centres, drivers and/or individual staff members as

required and process home garaging applications.
3. Co-ordinate the issue of fuel cards and Fuel Maintenance Order books for fuel and lubricants to all Departmental fleet

vehicles.
4. Perform duties associated with the relocation of vehicles (e.g. transfer to alternative location), vehicle replacements and

other vehicle related duties as required.
5. Maintain accurate and up to date record keeping associated with the vehicle management program and satellite phone

allocation.
6. Liaise with Department staff, vehicle custodians and managers as to their service requirements.
7. Assist with local purchasing relating to vehicle repairs and maintenance.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being

undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
9. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Strong appreciation of the value inherent in customer focused service delivery.
2. Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate

effectively at all levels.
3. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment across a wide variety of cross-cultural interfaces and well-developed

consultation, network and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, with highly developed time management skills and the ability to make

informed decisions.
5. Licensed driver in the Northern Territory and an awareness of the Motor Vehicle Act.
6. Working knowledge of procurement procedures as they relate to vehicle repairs and maintenance.
7. Proven ability to undertake high quality data entry and effective retrieval of information.

Desirable
1. Experience in fleet vehicle management.
