Positions are available at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney and comprises rotations in Intensive Care, Anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine and General Medicine. The Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) is responsible for co-ordinating and documenting the admission, management and discharge planning of patients within the Unit; the day-to-day assessment and management of the patients, maintaining high levels of communication with patients and family regarding the nature of their condition and its treatment; communicating and co-ordinating care with the team; arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate; support and education for interns and junior residents and arranging discharge and liaising with local medicalofficers and other community based care modalities in order to ensure the provision of optimal patient care within St Vincent's Health Network.
It is anticipated that SRMOs will complete a research or quality assurance project related to critical care in the year.

What You'll Be Doing
This role offers candidates an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience in Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine and General Medicine. This role is an opportunity to develop in ANZCA roles in practice: medical expert, communicator, collaborator, leader and manager, health advocate, scholar, and professional.
The SRMO Anaesthesia positions are suitable for applicants wishing to obtain further general Anaesthetics and Critical Care experience in preparation for a critical care career pathway.
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
* Completion of at least two postgraduate years
* Demonstrated interest in critical care; ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment, with developing skills in conflict resolution and timely management of patients with life threatening illness
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and peers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to develop professional attitudes and flexibility in work roles
* Commitment to developing non-technical skills including task management, situation awareness, team working and decision-making skills
* Demonstrated contribution to quality assurance, research and teaching activities
* Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Mission and Values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries
