The Role As a Contracting and Procurement Officer within the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO), your role will be critical for enabling the delivery of AGO’s mission and cutting-edge capabilities. You will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of initiatives to facilitate compliant and defensible procurement processes through the procurement lifecycle. These varied tasks can include drafting contract and procurement documentation, contract negotiation and establishment, and providing input to strategic reporting and decision-making. You will provide subject matter expertise and guidance to AGO business areas and work collaboratively across stakeholders to deliver organisational objectives. This role will be responsible for the supervision of staff to ensure delivery of team outcomes. The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased. It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation leads the Defence community in delivering geospatial-intelligence (comprising geospatial information and geospatial intelligence, collectively known as GEOINT) as well as hydrographic information. The Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation has workforces in Canberra, Wollongong and Bendigo. GEOINT and hydrography are critical enablers for Defence operations and national activities such as Australian Defence Force operations and training, safety of navigation, whole of government intelligence and security activities, natural disaster responses and strategic policy development. The Intelligence Capability Division is responsible for managing a range of intelligence capability programs; as well as providing advice and input to capability programs across the Department in order to deliver Defence’s Intelligence Enterprise capability. Intelligence Capability Division also assists Chief of Defence Intelligence in managing the Defence intelligence workforce, and ensuring the intelligence enterprise workforce have required skills and training. Intelligence Policy and Priorities provides direct policy advice and support to Chief of Defence Intelligence and other Defence senior leaders on intelligence matters, manages engagement with the National Intelligence Community, and prioritises Defence intelligence requirements.
