As Administration Officer (Payroll), you will specifically:
* Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Process and validate all changes to the fortnightly payroll for the Youth Detention Centre, complete all other associated personnel administration activities and work effectively with other Youth Detention Centre staff to ensure that the Youth Detention Centre's payroll and establishment is accurate and up to date.
* Process and validate all shift worker timesheet variations in the EmpLive Timesheet and Rostering System. Including tracking and processing approved overtime and leave. Liaise directly with Shift Supervisors to ensure approval processes are maintained.
* Research, establish and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of current legislation, awards, certified agreements, employment policies and practices affecting the employment of staff within the Youth Detention Centre.
* Establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant employees of the Department's shared service provider to ensure the efficient and effective two-way transfer of information.
* Liaise on a regular basis with the Administration Officer (Rostering) and Youth Detention Centre managers to ensure that all rostering and staff movements are captured and reflected correctly in the Aurion/HR Payroll System.
* Approach queries from a problem-solving perspective ensuring that the employee's circumstances are understood and considered and work cooperatively with other areas of the Youth Detention Centre in providing an integrated customer focused service.
* Maintain a high-quality working knowledge of the Aurion/HR Payroll System and related supporting peripheral databases and applications (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel).
* Ensure that the privacy of employees' personal information and all other records are securely and accurately maintained and meet departmental and archiving requirements
