About the role
As the Global Payroll Manager you will oversee all facets of our international payroll operations. This pivotal position leads the outsourced payroll function for Australia and New Zealand while guiding payroll operations for transitioning Asian countries as they move to our recent global payroll outsource partner, Ramco. You will be responsible for ensuring employees across multiple jurisdictions are compensated accurately and on time, while maintaining strict compliance with local, national, and international regulations. In this strategic role you will act as a key partner to Finance, HR and Operations, leveraging your deep expertise in payroll systems, compliance and process optimisation. Your ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement will help shape best practices across our global payroll function.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee and approve monthly, fortnightly and ad‑hoc pay runs, ensuring all payrolls are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Own monthly payroll reporting, journal preparation and payroll balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead the onshore Melbourne‑based payroll compliance team and provide oversight to payroll operations conducted by our Aurecon Payroll team in Manila.
- Drive strategic and change management initiatives to continually improve and enhance payroll processes.
- Ensure the incumbent Australia & New Zealand payroll managed service provider meets all SLAs and contractual/compliance obligations.
- Oversee the transition of Asian countries to the global payroll managed service provider, ensuring effective delivery, SLA adherence and strong ongoing relationships.
- Champion the implementation and roll‑out of future global managed payroll services, serving as the ultimate owner of these services.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience as a Payroll Manager, ideally within large, complex organisations operating across multiple geographies.
- Familiarity with Workday, ADP GlobalView and/or Ramco Payce Global Payroll is highly regarded.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Solid attention to detail and a proven ability to manage and adapt to change.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and mentorship of both onshore and offshore teams.
