Senior Engineer (OBP)
Join a major enterprise environment delivering large scale transformation across lending, digital originations and core banking technology. This team builds high impact systems used across customer, broker and lender channels, and you’ll play a key role in shaping the next generation of banking platforms. You’ll work in a mature Agile environment, leading solution design, delivering complex engineering outcomes and providing technical leadership across a wide portfolio of lending and origination initiatives.
What you’ll be doing
* Designing and developing high quality, fit for purpose solutions across enterprise banking platforms
* Reviewing solution designs to ensure the right technology choices, efficient integration and alignment to architecture standards
* Conducting impact analysis and managing design risks across functional, security and service quality domains
* Working closely with Architects, Designers, Infrastructure, Operations, Business and Project teams
* Leading engineers, guiding delivery quality and uplifting engineering capability
* Documenting technical approaches through diagrams, specifications, flowcharts and well structured code
What you’ll bring
* Around 10 years experience in enterprise engineering roles
* Strong experience with the Oracle Banking Platform, ideally across Loan Management, Customer Onboarding, Collateral Management or Payment Processing
* Background in Loan Originations, Secured or Unsecured Lending, Digital Origination and REST API integrations
* Experience with Oracle Banking APIs, frameworks, performance tuning and optimization
* Proficiency across JAVA, J2EE, Oracle BPM, OBP Host, OSB, REST API, Microservices and Kafka
* Exposure to Oracle ADF and SOA
* Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server or Apache Tomcat
* Strong understanding of WSDL, SOAP, XSD, XML, JSON/YAML
* Experience with Oracle 12c or other SQL databases
* Hands on experience with BitBucket, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD via Jenkins
* Strong diagnostic skills using Splunk, SQL Developer or AppDynamics
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
Role logistics
* Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office (only apply if you can comfortably commit to this)
* Applicants for the GC based role must live within a reasonable commute (not north of the river or too far east)

Hiring process
* Stage 1: Codility test (1 hour at home)
* Stage 2: 1 hour technical interview with scenario based and deep dive engineering questions
* Final stage: 30 minute behavioural interview with a senior leader covering motivation, interest in the role and onsite commitment
