Supply Chain Manager – Electrical – Commercial - Industrial manufacturing
Base + 11.5% super + Bonus + Phone + Laptop
This company is a manufacturer of electrical connectors, fuses, and mechanical hardware for electricity distribution systems, including overhead and underground components. They also design and manufacture products like Low Voltage Aerial Bundled Cable (LVABC) Insulation Piercing Connectors and are part of a global company with extensive design, manufacturing, and supply capabilities for the electrical industry.
They have over the years developed a business that encapsulates all the functionality of a modern manufacturing company, covering the disciplines of research & development, product design, testing, manufacturing and logistics. To accomplish this, they have a highly geared and motivated team engaged in manufacturing, engineering, administration, logistics and sales staff to support the growing business.
Their primary customer base includes Australian and international electricity transmission and distribution supply authorities. OEM's, mining, oil, gas and infrastructure companies along with electrical resellers, wholesalers and larger electrical contractors are an important part of the customer focus while they also deal with Electro Mobility and renewables.
They are going through a very positive growth change (acquisitions, retirements) and they are looking for an experienced, hands-onSupply Chain Manager to join their senior leadership team. Due to long tenures throughout the business, it will be essential to challenge the "norms" and help develop and implement solutions that provide continuous improvement and join them on a journey to world class status.

Based in the southern suburbs of Brisbane and reporting to the MD, your main responsibilities are around ensuring Supply Chain Operations are aligned with the Company's strategic objectives, support business growth, and uphold operational efficiency while accountable for optimising efficiency, controlling costs, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key duties will include:
· Lead and manage your team of 7, consisting of procurement, outsourcing and dispatch.
· Optimise Supply Chain Efficiency by streamlining processes thus reducing lead times, improve product flow and minimise operational costs whilst exceeding customer expectations.
· Development and implementation of the supply chain strategic direction, plans and goals.
· Manage the entire supply chain from the supplier to the customer in a cost efficient and operationally efficient manner.
· Ensure adequate supply of raw materials and components for the manufacturing operation
· Ensure the integration of the supply chain with the overarching Operations team, accurate data capture and processes that support the organisational requirements, customer needs and adherence to cost controls.
· Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) - based on the forecast and load/capacity analysis (internal and external), the manager must be able to make informed decisions to supply, produce, and distribute goods to the customer effectively
• Negotiate with current suppliers (and ones to be added) to reduce the purchasing cost. Develop cost reduction strategies without promoting the quality of products or customer service. Optimise inventory management and reduce excess stock to improve cash flow and reduce storage costs
· Develop and manage strategic partnerships with the suppliers and distributors globally.
· Responsible for the supply chain in Australia including procurement services and key Capex items
Ideally you will have the following work experience, skills, and personal qualities:
· Minimum of 5 years' experience in supply chain/logistics management, operations management in the electrical, industrial, commercial (or similar / relevant) industry is preferred, but manufacturing experience gained in other industries can also be considered.
· Proven people leadership and solid communication skills at all levels in the organisation.
· Hands on experience in a smaller team environment (team of 5-7 staff), in a manufacturing environment where you have been part of a team who has been able to strategize, structure and deliver step changes to customers, internal stakeholders and be part of a team
· Proven experience in managing and optimising supply chain operations across multiple regions or locations
· Experience in cross-functional management
· Ideally (but certainly not essential) a bachelor or master's degree qualification in supply chain management or related field and/or equivalent experience will be highly regarded. We would consider a seasoned professional who has gained experience over a long career in this field and possibly worked their way through the ranks.
· Demonstrated success in implementing cost-saving initiatives and driving
· Experience with ERP systems
· Ability to foster a strong collaborative culture both within your own department and across the organisation
· Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
· Exposure to continuous improvement (LEAN)
· Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues.
· Sound knowledge of transport, logistics and supply chain trends and contemporary issues
· Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen, and business skills in the management of budgets, business plans and analysing risk.
· Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
· Willingness to travel internationally (twice per year for 2-3 nights only) to attend Group meetings and interstate to oversee operations and meet with major Suppliers, Vendors and other stakeholders
• Substantial knowledge and understanding of quality, environment and work health and safety management systems and associated regulatory obligations
• Advanced PC skills, including Office 365 suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams). SharePoint, Power BI, ERP, MRP
• Knowledge of production management: planning and scheduling based on an analysis of system needs
