About the role:
As a Sheetmetal Fabricator, you are responsible for quality welding and general sheet metal fabrication which also includes operating sheet metal machinery. You must have previous experience in the assembly, installation and maintenance of sheet metal and expert knowledge of fabrication tools and equipment.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
* Reading technical drawings
* Welding
* Assembling components
* Manipulating steel, plastic, and other materials by cutting, bending, or grinding.
* Checking measurements and dimensions and ensuring materials made are to the correct specifications
* Create templates for repetitive fabrication tasks
* Buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces
* Set up and operate machinery including, rollers, drill press, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
* Troubleshoot and resolve machinery issues
* Adhere to all workplace, health, and safety procedures
Qualifications and Skills Required:
* Qualified Sheetmetal Trades Worker/Boilermaker
* Proficient with MIG & TIG welding
* High attention to detail and quality
* Expert knowledge of fabrication tools and equipment
* Ability to read engineering drawings
* Most importantly you must be reliable and have a positive can-do attitude.
