$80,502 - $88,860 salary package - includes base salary ($70,926 -$78,28, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (paid pro rata, based on part time hours completed)

About the role
Join our dynamic team as a Technical Assistant where you will be responsible for class preparation, storing and monitoring supplies and producing, maintaining and servicing teaching aids and equipment to support teaching staff with the effective and efficient delivery of educational programs.
Duties for this role include but are not limited to the following.
* Replacing batons in workshops every 6 months.
* Performing servicing, cleaning and routine repair of vacuums, drop saws, dust extractors, arrestors in sinks (weekly or every second day).
* Prepare panels for classes, which involves cutting plywood into shapes. Use of power tools.
* Maintaining, servicing and running signage equipment to ensure effective operation of the equipment.
* Maintaining, servicing and cleaning of spray equipment (anti-corrosive) after each use.
* Maintaining workshops and tools/equipment
* Stock management and supply ordering
* Preparation of workshops ready for class
Forklift related tasks include;
* Removal of skip bins with forklift after plastering classes
* Maintaining the blast chamber - including dust extractor and topping up of aggregate
* Moving of large/heavy equipment required for classes
Please note this position is for 36 weeks per year, and the advertised annual salary will be prorated to reflect the part-year work schedule.

Essential Requirements
* A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement).
* Trade qualifications appropriate to the role and trades area and/or relevant industry experience.
* Demonstrated ability to service, clean, repair and safely operate workshop machinery.
* Demonstrated application of practical, administration and computer skills to support supply, stores, maintenance, warehouse related duties and record keeping or similar activities.
* Demonstrated customer service, organisational skills and ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision.
* As required, possession of or willingness to obtain prior to commencement of employment, the following:
* Valid Working with Children Check
* Drivers Licence
* First Aid Certificate
* Forklift Licence
