Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centres and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the cloud. You will join a diverse team and help deliver high safety and security standards while providing scalable capacity at the lowest possible cost. The Data Centre Global Engineering Operations organisation seeks a Facilities Operations Centre (FOC) Engineer to monitor the data centre’s physical infrastructure 24x7 and serve as a facilitator for Large Scale Events (LSEs) and Critical Site Events (CSEs). The role also serves as a central monitoring location for the facility electrical and mechanical systems, aiming to ensure an optimal and reliable customer experience through consistency, reliability, and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will understand both data centre IT infrastructure and facilities infrastructure and how they co-exist. The successful candidate will assist the onsite team to ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed service levels. Experience in a large-scale data centre and the ability to think creatively to align the FOC with broader business objectives is essential. You will contribute to growing the team toward operational excellence and may work to support a 24x7 schedule (weekends/holidays may be required).
If you are passionate about the Customer Experience, think globally, and want to contribute to the operational excellence of Amazon Data Centres, this may be the chance you’re seeking.
