The Role
Our match coverage team is the vital link between what happens on the court and our legion of fans who we educate and inform across our digital channels. We are seeking applications from aspiring journalists, writers, broadcasters or content creators studying in the media, communications and journalism space to work with us during the 2026 Suncorp Super Netball League (SSN) season.
Reporting into the Senior Content Manager, we are looking for casual team members to fulfil paid, flexible positions that allow you to work from anywhere in Australia, whether from home or in stadium on match day. Given the unique nature of the sports industry and the domestic & global reach of our organisation, successful candidates must be available across weekends to cover the SSN matches during the 2026 season between March – August 2026. Key responsibilities include writing match reports for netball.com.au, and ensuring the SSN digital channels (including Facebook, X, TikTok and Instagram) are up to date.
About You
This is an entry level position, ideally suited to applicants studying journalism or media & communications, but that's not mandatory. If you've got some creative flair and are good with your words, we want you.
We are seeking applications from individuals who are passionate about the media and content space and have a keen interest in sport, particularly netball. You don't have to know everything about it, but you need to be willing to learn. It's also important you can work autonomously and have confidence in your decision making and writing skills. Most of all you need to have good interpersonal skills and be a keen communicator.
Key Skills Essential For Success Include
* Strong knowledge of netball, or quick ability to learn
* Strong writing skills
* Good understanding of social media
* Creative flair and ability to produce your own content ideas
* Ability to manage multiple requirements and priorities at once
* Attention to detail and ability to follow a plan
* A passion for the sports industry
* Prior voluntary, work experience or similar within the sports industry
* Alignment to, and champion of our DNA - Belong, Be Bold, Be Your Best
* Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance / willingness to obtain
