As an Assistant Sous Chef in Uncle Su at The Star Gold Coast, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside some of the best Chefs! At Uncle Su guests enjoy the freshest live seafood, hand-made lunchtime yum cha and a delicious blend of Cantonese style favourites with a selection of signature Beijing and Szechuan dishes. A few of your responsibilities:Run specific sections assigned by the Sous ChefOversee duties or work stationsAdvise management of inventory requirementsConduct on-the-job training for Commis Demi, and Apprentice Chefs
What are we looking for:Successful completion of a Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)Extensive experience working in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environmentCantonese/Mandarin language skills are essential Demonstrated leadership capabilitiesThe ability to efficiently work as part of the teamPassionate about learning new techniques and skillsFlexible availability over a 7-day roster
