Not Every Dental Assistant Role Feels Like a Long-Term Career. This One Does.
Most dental jobs promise a "great team" and a "supportive environment."
Very few actually deliver it.
We are currently representing a highly regarded, privately owned specialist orthodontic practice located in the beautiful Blue Mountains region, seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join their long-standing team.
This is not a high-turnover clinic looking for "just another staff member."
This is a practice where people stay.
With an average staff tenure of approximately 10 years, this opportunity has become available due to a valued team member not returning from maternity leave — and they are now looking for someone exceptional to step into a genuinely rewarding role.
Why This Role Is Different
This practice has built a reputation not only for clinical excellence, but for creating an environment where staff feel supported, respected and valued long term.
You'll be joining:
• A modern, beautifully presented specialist orthodontic practice
• A warm, professional and genuinely team-focused culture
• A highly organised environment with strong systems and structure
• A practice that values work-life balance — no weekends or late nights
• A close-knit, family-like team that supports each other
• A specialist setting where you will continue to develop your clinical skills
The role offers a unique balance of professional challenge without the chaos and burnout often experienced in general practice environments.
The Opportunity
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday:
• Monday – Thursday: 8:15am – 5:30pm
• Friday: 8:15am – 4:00pm
The role is primarily orthodontic assisting with some reception responsibilities as required.
You will be involved in:
• Chairside orthodontic assisting
• Clinical photography and radiography
• Sterilisation and infection control
• Patient communication and support
• Appointment coordination and patient flow
• Working closely alongside an experienced specialist orthodontic team
There may also be occasional opportunities to assist at the practice's secondary location in Bondi Junction.
Who They're Looking For
This role will suit someone who is:
• Confident and personable
• Fast paced and highly organised
• Reliable and team focused
• Professional yet warm with patients
• A quick learner who enjoys staying busy
• Looking for a long-term workplace rather than "just another job"
Previous Australian dental experience is essential, with a minimum of 3 years preferred.
Experience in orthodontics is highly regarded, however a strong Dental Assistant from general practice with the right attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.
What's On Offer
• $35–$38 per hour + superannuation
• Stable full-time hours
• On-site parking
• Supportive onboarding and training period
• Long-term career opportunity within a respected specialist practice
• No weekend work
• Friendly, experienced and welcoming team culture
If you are currently employed but quietly wondering whether there is something better out there — this may be the role worth exploring.
