About the Role
The Primary School Chinese Teacher has a responsibility to theHead of Primary School via the Director of Primary AcademicEducation – PYP Coordinator and the Associate Director ofAcademic Education – PYP Coordinator to exercise the purposeand values of the school in and out of the classroom and to providea learning environment that fosters the pursuit of excellence andthe attainment of each student's potential.
The role of the Primary School Chinese Teacher is central to theholistic development of all students. The Academic Program,Pastoral Care System, the spiritual life of the School andCo-curricular Program play a vital role in this holisticdevelopment, with participation in each of these areas anexpectation of the Teacher.
About You
You are a dedicated and passionate language educator who thriveson bringing culture and communication to life in the classroom. Youwill have:
* Fluency in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua)
* Experience teaching Chinese in a Primary School orequivalent setting
* A talent for creating engaging, authentic learningexperiences that promote linguistic confidence andintercultural understanding
* Collaborative spirit and the ability to inspire and leadcolleagues
* PYP experience or a strong understanding of Inquiry-basedpedagogy
* A relevant tertiary qualification and teachingcredentials
* ACT Teacher's Registration (TQI) or eligibility toobtain one
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communicationskills
* A commitment to the broader life of an independentschool

* A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
* Excellent technological literacy across a range ofapplications
* A current National Police Check; and
* Full working rights within Australia.
