Join the UQ Biological Resources (UQBR) team in this dynamic Administration Officer role, where you'll play a pivotal part in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of one of the University's key research infrastructure centres.
Based at Long Pocket, you'll contribute to the coordination of essential administrative and operational processes that enable world-class animal research at UQ. From streamlining workflows and maintaining vital animal management database systems to supporting the Director and Administration Manager, this role offers variety, purpose, and the chance to make a tangible impact every day.
You'll collaborate with colleagues across UQBR to deliver excellent service, ensure compliance with key frameworks, and support continuous improvement across administrative and operational activities.

Key responsibilities will include:
* Maintain and update the Mosaic database, assist with reference data and ethics protocols, create, and review online training material and provide training and guidance to staff and students.
* Manage daily animal movements, orders, and deliveries across UQBR facilities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency, when required.
* Conduct asset stocktakes, maintain equipment registers, coordinate equipment movements, and oversee general office systems and supplies.
* Provide high-level administrative support to the Director and Administration Manager, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and assist with reporting, billing, general orders and record management.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months at HEW Level 5.
About You
* Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities efficiently.
* Strong administration and coordination skills, including experience maintaining databases and office systems and training users.
* Effective and professional communicator, able to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Proactive and capable of exercising sound judgment, working independently or as part of a team.
* Committed to delivering high-quality customer service and supporting a collaborative work environment.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements relating to Animal Ethics, Biosafety, Biosecurity, and Occupational Health and Safety, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia, a criminal check and medical clearance.

Medical Clearance
Medical Clearance Working with laboratory animals is an inherent requirement of the position. The appointment is therefore subject to, and conditional upon, satisfactory medical clearance(s), including disclosure of relevant medical history, to undertake such work without unreasonable risk to your health and safety. In addition, the Employee is required to fully comply with necessary ongoing health monitoring procedures and control measures associated with the position.
