We are a well respected, family-owned fresh berry horticultural business based in Cressy, Tasmania. We are the largest independent berry grower in the state, with the 72 ha farm growing raspberries, blackberries and strawberries under protected cropping.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a capable and commercially minded Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with 3–4 years' commercial experience who enjoys working close to the business, partnering with operational teams and providing clear, practical financial insight to support decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial & Management Accounting
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial integrity
• Assist with month-end and year-end processes
• Support audit and compliance requirements
Payroll & Compliance
• Assist with the payroll process for farm and office staff, including seasonal and casual labor.
• Manage superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
• Assist in compliance with employment laws and agricultural labor regulations.
Reporting & Communication
• Prepare clear financial reports
• Translate financial information into practical insights
• Improve reporting tools and processes
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
• Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Track performance against budget and provide variance analysis
• Support cash flow and working capital management
Commercial Analysis & Business Partnering
• Analyze product costing, margins, yield and waste
• Support pricing and capital investment decisions
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build trusted relationships across the business
• Communicate confidently with stakeholders
• Support a collaborative culture
ABOUT YOU
• 3–4 years' experience in an accounting role, commercial experience highly regarded.
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• CA/CPA completed or in progress preferred
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience desirable
• Australian work rights are required for this position
