Are you an organised and analytical professional with a passion for fleet operations, procurement and data-driven decision making? Join our dynamic Fleet Services Team and play a key role in delivering efficient, cost-effective fleet management services that support essential community infrastructure.

As the Fleet Procurement Officer, you will work collaboratively across operational teams to ensure the effective procurement, deployment and lifecycle management of Council’s fleet assets. This is a varied role that combines procurement, data analysis, stakeholder engagement and operational coordination.

You will contribute to the ongoing optimisation of fleet performance, ensuring value for money, compliance, and alignment with Council’s Long Term Financial Plan.

* Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week);
* Temporary, full-time position (35 hours per week);
* Remuneration package of $3,087.34 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $3,704.81 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%);

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* Relevant qualifications in fleet management (or extensive industry experience)
* Experience in fleet operations, logistics, procurement or plant management
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data
* Knowledge of fleet management systems
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Sound time management, administrative and organisational capabilities
* A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and customer service

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

* Coordinate the deployment and utilisation of plant, vehicles and equipment across operational work groups
* Analyse fleet and workshop performance data to support reporting and decision-making
* Manage procurement processes for new vehicles and plant, including quotations, tenders and supplier engagement
* Oversee asset disposals in line with Council’s financial and asset management strategies
* Maintain and review fleet “whole of life” costing and internal plant hire charge rates
* Support the Fleet Management System and provide assistance to system users
* Coordinate vehicle registrations and liaise with relevant authorities and suppliers
* Provide high-quality customer service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers
* Assist with WHS initiatives, fleet telematics and risk management activities

As the successful applicant, you will have:

* Class C Driver’s Licence
* General Construction Induction (White Card)
* Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in fleet or procurement environments
