We're seeking an **Assistant Purchasing Manager** to step into a senior operational role with a clear pathway to Purchasing Manager. This is a role for someone who wants real ownership now — and bigger accountability next.
## **The role**As Assistant Purchasing Manager, you'll take end-to-end ownership of key raw material portfolios while progressively expanding your commercial and strategic remit. You'll operate with a high level of autonomy under delegated authority and act as the designated successor to the Purchasing Manager. You'll be deeply involved in sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, cost management and supply continuity, while contributing to broader business decisions that impact margin, risk and long-term resilience.
## **Key responsibilities**You'll manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned raw material categories, including sourcing, pricing, contracting and ongoing supplier performance. You'll lead negotiations within scope and support more complex negotiations as part of the wider purchasing strategy. Supply continuity and risk management will be central to your role — identifying vulnerabilities early, developing contingency plans, and ensuring production is consistently supported.
You'll lead forecasting activities for your portfolios, working closely with Planning, Operations, Technical and Finance to align material availability with commercial and production plans. You'll also build strong supplier partnerships, drive continuous improvement, and support the identification and onboarding of new suppliers and raw materials. You'll contribute to procurement process improvement initiatives, participate in global purchasing forums, and step into the Purchasing Manager role during periods of absence.
## **About you**You're an experienced procurement professional with strong commercial judgement and a track record of managing complex supplier portfolios. You're comfortable balancing operational delivery with longer-term thinking, and you bring confidence in negotiations, data analysis and decision-making. You build credible, professional relationships, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and are motivated by growth — both your own and the organisation's.
You're ready for a role that stretches you and prepares you for senior leadership. ### Why BioMarAt BioMar, procurement is a strategic function with global reach. You'll be trusted with meaningful responsibility, supported in your development, and exposed to international markets and decision-making.
This role is intentionally designed as a successor position, offering both challenge and opportunity. If you're looking for a role where your impact is visible and your future is taken seriously, we'd love to hear from you. ## **Powered by Partnership.
