Strategic leadership and policy development are key components of this role, as the successful candidate will be responsible for leading high-level strategic policy and projects.
* This position is a critical component in supporting the progression of important policies relative to reform agendas.
Responsibilities: The Principal Policy Officer will be required to conduct research and literature reviews, analyse complex issues and recommend practical solutions.
* The officer will also provide strategic advice on policies, legislative reform, memorandums of understanding and service level agreements.
* Data collection and analysis will be essential in supporting planning and performance reporting.
* Effective communication skills are necessary for providing concise, accurate and evidence-informed briefings, cabinet submissions, presentations and communications.
* Liaising and leading stakeholder engagement with key representatives will be crucial in developing effective working relationships.
Criteria: The successful candidate must have or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role. Ability to work autonomously within a small team is also required, particularly in a politically sensitive environment.
