The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced EL1–EL2 equivalent Product Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of a major digital marketplace platform supporting government procurement of software and cloud services.
This role sits within a central digital capability function responsible for modernising how government agencies source and procure technology. You will define product vision, manage the roadmap and backlog, and lead delivery across multidisciplinary teams including design, engineering, procurement, and policy specialists.
You will play a key role in shaping a user-centred, compliant and scalable procurement pathway, ensuring alignment with whole-of-government frameworks while delivering tangible outcomes in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead product strategy, roadmap and backlog for a large-scale digital marketplace capability
* Drive discovery, alpha and beta phases including user research and service design
* Translate policy, legal and procurement requirements into actionable product features
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver iterative product outcomes
* Engage senior stakeholders across government and industry to align priorities
* Ensure integration with existing procurement platforms, workflows and data models
* Provide clear product documentation, reporting and governance updates
* Manage risks, delivery timelines and competing priorities in a complex environment
Essential Criteria
* Strong experience delivering complex digital products (ideally government or regulated environments)
* Proven ability to lead product strategy, roadmap and agile delivery
* Excellent stakeholder engagement across technical, policy and executive audiences
Desirable Experience
* Experience with digital marketplaces, procurement platforms or cloud/software ecosystems
* Understanding of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and ICT sourcing environments
* Exposure to platforms such as ServiceNow or similar enterprise workflow systems
