Volunteer Visitor Community and Residential Facilities
Connect, chat and give purpose to a senior's life through regular, friendly, face-to-face or virtual visits in their own homes or in residential care. Offer a helping hand around a senior's home through shared tasks, activities, conversation or accompanying them for social outings e.g. light gardening, watching a movie, sharing a meal, playing cards, a craft activity or going for a walk on the beach etc, or by providing reliable and safe transport out of the village for day trips.

About you!
* You MUST be over the age of 18
* A minimum 1 hour once per week or fortnight for a minimum of 6 months
* Willing to undergo a free National Coordinated Criminal History Check (this is compulsory)
* Willing and able to give a minimum of an hour a day or fortnight to visit a senior client in their home or residential facility.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to the ability to effectively liaise with seniors
* Compassionate, patient, observant and a good listener
* Open minded, non-judgemental and respectful of clients' choices
* Embody a friendly and cheerful volunteer spirit
* Operate with integrity, open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality and dignity of our clients is always maintained
Commitment:
The rostering and days will be negotiated to meet the availability of the Volunteer and the elderly senior. NB: This is an UNPAID Volunteering role

Feros Care In Great Company is a volunteer program designed to connect lonely socially isolated seniors based in the community who are in need of social connection and support with caring, friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic volunteers. This program was born out of a need for a service that creates a real difference in the lives of our elderly and those volunteering their time to give back.
