Role Details
As we advance our growth strategy, we are seeking a Chief Exploration Geologist to lead Perilya's global exploration portfolio and drive the discovery of the next generation of base metal deposits.
Based in our Adelaide head office, this pivotal leadership role will oversee all exploration activities across Australia and international assets. You will set the strategic direction, manage exploration programs from concept to discovery, and play a critical role in shaping the company's long-term resource pipeline.
This is an opportunity for a proven exploration leader to influence corporate strategy, guide high-performing teams, and contribute directly to the growth of an established, globally recognised mining business.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading the strategic planning, design, and execution of exploration programs across greenfields and brownfields projects
* Managing exploration budgets, schedules, and technical performance across multiple jurisdictions
* Driving geological interpretation, target generation, and 3D resource modelling to identify high-value opportunities
* Overseeing all QA/QC, data integrity, and geoscientific governance standards
* Providing technical direction and mentoring to exploration teams and senior geologists
* Collaborating closely with corporate leadership, operations, and business development to align exploration outcomes with growth objectives
* Representing Perilya in joint ventures, partnerships, and external technical forums
* Leading innovation in exploration methods, technologies, and data management systems
About You
You are a highly experienced exploration professional with a track record of discovery and leadership in base or precious metals. You combine deep technical expertise with commercial acumen and a strong sense of strategic vision.
Your background includes:
* A degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related discipline
* 10+ years' experience in mineral exploration, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams
* Proven success managing large-scale exploration programs and achieving discovery outcomes
* Strong capability in geological modelling, target generation, and project evaluation
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* A proactive, safety-first mindset and commitment to sustainable exploration practices
