PURPOSE OF POSITION
We are looking for an Accounts Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The Accounts Officer will work closely with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform all facets of accounts payable and accounts receivable to assist with finance reporting and decision making requirements.
* Assist the Human Resources manager with roster data checking.
* Data entry and system administration support.
* Deal directly with creditors and debtors.
* Efficiently manage email and phone enquiries relating to invoicing and payment.
* Maintain accounting ledgers.
* Process expenses and staff reimbursements.
* Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
* Prepare and produce financial reports by collecting, analysing and summarising account information and trends.
* Ensure systems, processes and internal controls are efficient and effective.
* Other duties as directed or negotiated.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
1. Qualification in accounting or bookkeeping or a similar discipline.
2. Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
3. Experience in accounts payable and receivable.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of payroll processing.
5. Organised, flexible and proactive approach to completion of tasks to deadlines.
6. Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy, ability to spot anomalies and rectify them.
7. Ability to multitask and prioritise.
8. Experience with MYOB Accountright system or similar accounting packages.
9. Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office.
10. Strong customer service skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
11. Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
12. High standards of ethical and professional behaviour, integrity and capacity to maintain confidentiality.
Desirable
1. Knowledge of NDIS legislation and funding model.
2. Prior experience in the disability, community or health sector.
3. Experience using FlowLogic software.
