About the Opportunity
We're looking for a Security Advisor to keep Austal Ships secure, compliant, and operating at a high standard. You'll manage our DISP obligations, support security strategy, oversee clearances, and lead responses to security incidents when they arise.
Working closely with the Chief Security Officer and wider Austal Group, you'll also play a key role in ongoing security uplift initiatives and help ensure a consistent approach across defence and commercial operations.
What's Involved
* Own and maintain DISP compliance, including accreditation across Governance, Physical and Personnel (and support Cyber).
* Act as the DISP Security Advisor for Austal Ships.
* Support and roll out group security strategy, tailoring it to suit the business.
* Lead security incident response and keep plans up to date.
* Manage and sponsor personnel security clearances with AGSVA.
* Support and deliver security uplift projects.
* Coordinate security practices across teams, locations, and programs.
* Oversee ITAR compliance, training, and audits.
You'll Need
* NV1 clearance (AGSVA) required.
* Strong understanding of DISP, DSPF, SOCI Act, ITAR, and ISM.
* Proven experience managing security frameworks and lifting security posture.
* Confident leading incident investigations and applying lessons learned.
* Solid background in risk management (ISO 31000).
* Able to influence stakeholders and build a strong security culture.
* Experience working in complex environments, handling security up to SECRET level.
* 10+ years in defence security, including 5+ years in a senior role.
