The Role
Location: Metro Adelaide SA
Duration: 48-month full time Apprenticeship
As a Painter Apprentice, you will work within private industry across residential sites, learning all aspects of painting and decorating techniques. Successful completion can lead to full time employment, subcontracting opportunities or further specialisation in decorative finishes.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, filing and caulking
- Maintain and decorate surfaces to ensure durability and appeal
- Apply varnish, stain and wallpaper to protect surfaces
- Paint a range of surfaces to a high professional standard
- Learn how to match and mix paint colours accurately
- Learn to read and understand building plans
About You
To be successful in this Apprenticeship, you will need:
- High attention to detail
- Possess good physical fitness to perform manual tasks
- Be committed, reliable and hardworking
- Display initiative and manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively
- Work effectively as part of a team and follow directions
Role Requirements
- Driver’s licence with reliable vehicle
- Be willing to complete a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol screen
- Previous on site or labouring experience (desirable)
- Completed a Certificate II in Construction Pathways or similar (desirable)
