About Your Role
As the Senior Safety Permit Officer, you will oversee and administer safety systems for construction and major maintenance works across Metro South Health.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead WHS oversight for construction and maintenance activities
* Review SWMS, risk assessments, and safety documentation
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance checks
* Provide expert WHS advice, coaching, and mentoring
* Support and lead incident investigations
* Monitor contractor compliance and safety performance
* Identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Communicate complex safety risks to senior stakeholders
About You
You are an experienced WHS professional with a strong background in construction or infrastructure, ideally within complex or high‐risk environments.
Skills & Experience
* Relevant WHS qualification or equivalent experience
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and standards
* Experience in construction or infrastructure safety
* Proven ability to manage high-risk work environments
* Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
* Experience reviewing SWMS and risk documentation
* Investigation and incident management capability
* Excellent communication and report writing skills
