Senior Civil Operator
This permanent full-time role offers a chance to develop in the water industry, leading and coordinating the operational maintenance of complex wastewater systems across the Wellington district, including Waroona, Donnybrook, Collie, and surrounding towns.
What the role will involve
* Coordinate and manage effective operation, maintenance, and repairs to wastewater conveyance assets in the Wellington District, using automated control systems (such as SCADA).
* Attend to faults, ability to work after-hours, and participate on a standby roster.
* Assist with job planning to ensure safety and equipment is appropriately resourced and meets required standards.
* Provide advice and/or assist trainees, operators and other contractors as required.
* Liaise with Shires, consultants, and contractors for works projects to ensure legislative and company compliance.
* Records and documents information relevant to the scheduled work in an accurate and timely manner, including use of forms, computers and other devices as required.
* Ensure that all work is undertaken with safety as the priority in the provision of a work environment where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety.
* Undertake competency and performance assessments of operators as required.
What we require from you
* Completion of Certificate III in National Water Package (NWP) (minimum).
* Valid Western Australian 'C' Class Driver's License.
* Availability for rostered overtime and call-out emergencies outside of normal working hours.
* Certificate IV Water/Wastewater in NWP or Certificate IV in Management or Leadership.
* High degree of technical knowledge and skills relevant to the district assets or ability to demonstrate from a similar industry.
