Job Overview
As a
Financial Analyst
within the Budget Strategy & Performance team of Corporate Services – Finance, you will deliver high-quality financial reporting, performance analysis and strategic insights to support informed decision-making by senior finance and non-finance executives.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate responses to financial data requests from Senior Executives and NSW Treasury.
Prepare detailed, accurate and timely financial reports, briefs and analysis that support strategic business management and decision-making.
Provide expert financial advice to Executives and Senior managers across DPHI, identifying performance trends and opportunities to guide business improvement.
Support the coordination and delivery of DPHI's annual budget processes and production of associated reports, analysis and presentations.
Deliver timely, professional support to senior management in the development of briefings for budget estimates and Cabinet Minutes, including financial impacts and funding proposals.
Collaborate with financial reporting and business partnering teams to enhance financial systems, reporting processes and capability.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong understanding of government functions, financial policies and sector standards.
Experience providing high-quality financial advice and technical support to senior managers.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to consult across diverse teams and government agencies.
Advanced skills in analysing financial data, preparing reports, and presenting insights.
Proactive, accountable approach with commitment to ethical standards and public sector values.
Excellent communication skills, able to present complex ideas clearly to executive audiences.
Customer-focused mindset with a knack for solving problems and improving outcomes.
Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or similar discipline, and full membership of CPA Australia or CAANZ.
