About the Role: Reporting to the National Quality Manager, the role is to oversee the activity of the food safety and quality team by developing, implementing, and maintaining the food safety, quality and culture systems program on site to ensure all requirements are met for our customers, industry, and from a regulatory perspective. Key responsibilities: Lead and develop small quality team. Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality system. Provide input to the business strategy with the intention of strengthening the Food safety and quality Culture of the business. Ensure all statutory and regulatory regulations are met (Health Act, FSANZ, DAWR) Prepare for and lead all internal and 3rd party audits and coordinate corrective action responses within required timeframes Conduct and lead food safety inspections, GMP, supplier, and customer audits Management and trending of the customer complaints, incidents, near misses including daily monitoring of complaints so that any major food safety or quality issues are identified and communicated to the business. Manage and ensure onsite external testing requirements are completed as required and within the agreed budget Conduct training program for a wide range of QA / Food Safety / Hygiene / HACCP topics Manage and be involved in TACCP/VACCP activities Conduct and work through Internal audit program to ensure continuous improvement. Assist the NPD department with new product development, production trials of new products, product improvements and new processes. Ensure quality control procedures are achieved and maintained. Development and verification of plant hygiene manual and sanitation standard operating procedures. Establishing and building relationships with suppliers & customers. Assess material risks and apply appropriate Quality Assurance measures Knowledge, skills & qualities Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or similar discipline Minimum 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment involving QA, HACCP, Food Safety & GMP 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance Management Knowledge and application of supermarket standards (Woolworths, Coles, ALDI, Costco) and related knowledge of customer portals, i.e.: Coles Fusion, Ashbury, PLMS, SQI, BAP) MSC/ASC; BAP; RSPO – Sustainability Food Safety Auditing - Internal and External (CFMSR requirement) Seafood manufacturing experience (desirable) HACCP Qualification Intermediate MS Office skills We request all agencies to not approach or send any unsolicited resumes.
