As a Asset Inspection Assistant, you’ll be hands on in a team that keeps Queensland connected and powers communities every day. Your opportunity Starting as an Asset Inspection Assistant, you will work with a qualified inspector to ensure the reliability and safety of Energy Queensland’s electricity distribution networks. You will work in a crew of 2, travelling throughout North Queensland to complete inspections on our physical assets and power poles. With time, you will be afforded a balance of on and off job training and work toward qualification as an Asset Inspector. The remuneration for your new role begins from $100,826 per annum 14.75% superannuation, with the opportunity to increase as skills are obtained. This will be further enhanced with payments of overtime and allowances when working away from home. You’ll need to be physically capable to carry out manual work and be prepared to get your hands dirty. You’ll be working in exposed conditions – the sun, wind, and the rain. There’ll be travel involved, meaning at times you’ll spend long periods of time away from your family and loved ones. Important to your success in the role, is your: Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence. Experience in safety observing and your ability to actively identify and implement risk control measures where needed. The ability to perform physically demanding labour in the North Queensland outdoors. Demonstrated understanding of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of the electrical network. Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
