The Role
As a Counsellor, you will work under the Integrated Primary Mental Health Care model, focusing on delivering high-quality mental health and therapy services for disadvantaged individuals in the Goldfields region.
* Conduct comprehensive client assessments to inform case plans or referrals based on client needs.
* Assess supports and ensure they meet clients' needs.
* Refer and assist clients in accessing specialist services and support groups.
* Respond appropriately to clients in crisis.
* Facilitate groups as required.
Key Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
* Providing short-term therapy to individuals, couples and families.
* Working with children and families with complex needs.
* Intake and assessment processes.
* Early intervention and prevention program services.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* A recognised tertiary level qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development or related disciplines.
* Provisional/registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
* Social Worker eligibility for ASWA registration.
* Experience in working with vulnerable populations.
* Highly developed clinical skills and knowledge.
* Strong professional boundaries.
* WA Driver's licence.
* National Police Clearance (12-month validity).
* Working With Children Check or eligibility to apply.
