Job Description: Join Bank of America’s Asia Pacific legal team as the lead lawyer supporting the Australia investment banking and capital markets businesses. The role offers broad exposure to M&A, equity and debt capital markets transactions, close partnership with senior bankers and internal stakeholders and the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile domestic and cross-border matters. Responsibilities: Alongside other members of the team in Asia and globally, you will Assist bankers by reviewing/negotiating transaction documents; Engage, instruct and supervise external counsels; Assist in structuring and executing corporate and capital markets transactions; Contribute to internal guidelines, policies, procedures and standardized documentation; Identify and advise on regulatory developments, new products or trends in the market; and Interact with different internal functions and develop a relationship with internal stakeholders as a trusted partner, providing practical legal advice Your background: Qualified lawyer under the laws of any of the states or territories of Australia and/or the laws of a common law jurisdiction who is experienced with Australian market practices At least ten years post qualifications experience with a leading Australian or international law firm or financial services company working on international corporate and/or capital markets transactions Strong commercial judgement and a practical, solutions-oriented approach coupled with a desire to continually grow and adapt Based in Sydney, NSW
