Join a friendly, patient-focused general practice in Ringwood as a casual Practice Nurse. This role suits a motivated Registered Nurse with General registration in Australia who thrives in a mixed billing private practice environment. You will work collaboratively with experienced GPs and allied health staff to deliver high-quality primary care, preventive services, and chronic disease management. Casual hours provide flexibility while offering varied clinical exposure and supportive teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical nursing services including wound care, immunisations, ear syringing and health assessments.
* Support chronic disease management programs for conditions such as diabetes, asthma, COPD and cardiovascular disease.
* Perform procedures under nurse-led clinics, including dressings, point-of-care testing and ECGs.
* Administer vaccinations in accordance with National Immunisation Program guidelines and practice protocols.
* Prepare patients for GP consultations, take accurate histories and document clinical findings in electronic medical records.
* Deliver health education, lifestyle counselling and support for preventative care initiatives.
* Maintain strict infection control, occupational health and safety standards within the practice.
* Collaborate with administrators and allied health professionals to streamline patient flow and clinic efficiency.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Current Australian registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA General registration required).
* Experience working in a general practice, community health or primary care setting preferred.
* Competence in immunisation delivery, wound management and routine clinical procedures.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‐centred approach.
* Proficiency in electronic medical records and basic computer skills for clinical documentation.
* Ability to work independently within scope of practice and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Current CPR certificate, Victorian Working with Children Check and up-to-date vaccinations as per practice policy.
