MECHANICAL PROJECT Engineer Simcoa Operations Pty Ltd, located near Bunbury, Western Australia is located 200km south of Perth operates Australia’s only Silicon Metal Smelter, incorporating a sawmill, high temperature charcoal plant, submerged electric arc furnaces, grinding plant, crushing and screening facilities and an off-gas filtration/fume collection baghouse. With a continuous usage of 70MW, we are one of Western Australia’s largest electrical consumers. Simcoa is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer with at least 8 years’ experience to join their Engineering team, to meet the increased and ongoing project workload. In this position, you will focus on the design and management of mechanical projects and maintenance support of all fixed plant and equipment on site including: Development, design, control and management of all aspects of mechanical projects. Provision of mechanical engineering knowledge to operations and maintenance personnel. Assistance with the cost effective and timely maintenance of all company assets. Applications are invited from formally qualified Mechanical Engineers with post graduate experience in the areas of design, installation, commissioning, and contractor management in a continuously operating, heavy industrial environment. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate: Application of engineering design principles. Application of maintenance reliability engineering principles. Technical evaluation and problem solving. Experience in data and statistical analysis. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy and applications. Cost and budget management. Report writing; and Experience in general aspects of mechanical engineering, with a focus on material handling and process plant design, installation and maintenance preferably in a hot metal environment.
