Role Description
As a Travel Consultant you will utilise exceptional customer‐service skills and share extensive knowledge of global destinations to create personalised travel itineraries. You will manage the entire customer experience from enquiry to completion.
- Promote holiday packages, flights, hotels, cruises, tours, experiences and insurance
- Build relationships with customers face‐to‐face and online, managing new enquiries, quotes, itineraries, amendments and cancellations
- Facilitate domestic and international travel bookings and payments between travellers and suppliers, using Amadeus GDS
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, cross‐selling and up‐selling travel products
- Manage travel credits, refunds and changes
- Attend sales meetings and achieve targets & KPIs
- Attend industry events such as supplier & product events, ship inspections and travel expos
- Work in the Geelong retail store Monday‐Friday 9am‐5pm with occasional out‐of‐office industry events; potential for future weekend work
Qualifications & Experience
- Retail travel agency experience – essential
- Certificate III in Travel or higher – preferred
- GDS experience in Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo
- Passion for the travel industry and personal travel experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational, attention to detail and problem‐solving skills
- Ability to manage workflow, set goals, meet sales targets and work productively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent personal presentation
- Availability to attend induction training in Melbourne for the first 2–3 weeks; travel costs covered by RACV
