About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Analyst to join our Insurance Australia CFO team in Sydney. This role has responsibilities across month-end processes, reporting, forecasting and budgeting in the Insurance Australia CFO team.
This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who is looking for strong development, exposure to a wide range of stakeholders, and the chance to grow into a Finance Analyst role.
What You'll Do
* Deliver end of month finance processes in a timely and accurate manner.
* Proactively support with investigation and timely resolutions of data variances and reconciliations.
* Prepare and process accounting journals.
* Supporting delivery of key management reporting activities including monthly Management and Board reporting, Full Year and Half Year external reporting to the market.
* Support with maintenance and update of financial systems and databases.
* Analytical support with the forecasting and budgeting processes.
* Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver performance management insights.
* Build relationships with key stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of business drivers and trends that support management reporting.
What You'll Bring
* Degree in Accounting or Finance.
* Working towards CA/CPA is preferred but not essential.
* Practical experience and exposure to accounting, business analysis, management reporting and / or decision support.
* Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS products suite; experience with finance systems e.g. Oracle, TM1, Power BI is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with various stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and work to deadlines.
* A basic understanding of insurance is beneficial but not required.
