We are a well-established small business specialising in the manufacturing and sale of farm after market parts, supporting the agricultural industry with quality products and reliable service. Our business operates with a small, collaborative finance team within a modern open-plan office environment.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team full-time. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in maintaining the financial operations of our seasonal business.
Australian work rights are required for this role.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role covering a broad range of bookkeeping and finance responsibilities across accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, and general finance support.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
* Manage the full AP process including Purchase Orders, invoice processing, and supplier payments
* Create ABA files, upload payments to the bank, and complete monthly statement reconciliations
* Manage domestic and occasional foreign supplier accounts
* Set up new suppliers in the ERP system
* Process adhoc payments in the banking system and accounting software
Accounts Receivable Support
* Assist with AR when required
* Process customer receipts from bank statements
* Process customer credit card payments within the system
Banking & Reconciliations
* Perform daily bank reconciliations
* Reconcile corporate credit card transactions
* Maintain accurate financial records
Payroll & HR Administration
* Prepare and process fortnightly payroll for approximately 30 staff (factory and office)
* Maintain employee records and set up new staff in the payroll system
* Prepare employment contracts for new and existing employees when required
* Liaise with external HR advisors regarding awards and employment regulations
General Finance Duties
* Process financial journals including GL, AP, and AR journals
* Process employee expense reports
* Assist with basic monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Provide general finance support to the Financial Controller
Systems & Tools
* NetSuite ERP
* Zone Payroll / MyPay
* Online timesheet application
* Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams)
* Telephone system via Microsoft Teams
About You
The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience and enjoy working in a small team environment where flexibility and initiative are valued.
You will demonstrate:
* Solid bookkeeping experience with strong accounting fundamentals
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
* Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience highly regarded)
* Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a seasonal business environment
* A proactive, can-do attitude
* Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to think outside the box
* A collaborative team-player mindset
