Your impact
Jacobs' Energy and Power business is at the forefront of the energy transition in the Asia Pacific region. As we experience significant growth and collaborate with diverse clients, we're seeking a visionary Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Energy & Power Infrastructure team.
In this pivotal role, you'll lead the delivery of critical power engineering consultancy services, working across medium and high voltage (66kv) design in transmission and distribution projects. You'll be instrumental in helping Jacobs meet growing client demands for sustainable energy infrastructure and shaping the future of power generation and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams, both locally and in our Global Delivery Centres, ensuring high-quality design package delivery.
* Spearhead the development of innovative engineering solutions in traction power, EV transport, renewable generation, HV connections and reticulation, earthing and bonding, EMC, substations, and electrical protection systems.
* Develop and manage key client accounts, overseeing project delivery across diverse sectors including resources, industrial/processing, power utilities, renewable power, water/wastewater, rail, and defence.
* Lead technical reviews of design deliverables, and drive project and client meetings.
* Utilize advanced technical expertise in distribution primary and secondary systems, including protection systems, power system studies, protection studies, grading, and relay configurations.
* Actively contribute to business growth by developing proposals, nurturing client relationships, and participating in strategy development, interviews, and presentations.
Here's what you'll need
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly in medium and high voltage systems.
* Proven track record in leading complex projects and teams in the energy and power sector.
* In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.
* Strong business acumen with a history of successful client relationship management.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Passion for sustainable energy and commitment to driving the energy transition.
* Ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
